About TextToMeme

TextToMeme is a text-first meme maker. Other generators open on a gallery and assume you already know which format your joke needs. This one opens on a text box, because jokes arrive as sentences — and a sentence's shape (comparison, complaint, win, disaster, hot take) already knows which layout it wants.

The matching is deliberately un-magical: a published table of keyword and pattern rules, documented in full on the how it works page, running locally in your browser. We would rather be predictable and honest about not using an AI model than mysterious about using one.

Every layout is an original canvas recreation — colour blocks, an emoji character, caption zones — inspired by classic formats rather than built from the original photographs. Your text is never uploaded, your memes are rendered on your device, and your captions are yours.
